HTML Editors

Alot of people ask "What is the best HTML editor?"
I hang out in #html in IRC, and if you ask this question during a busy time, you could get alot of different opinions. Some say Hotdog. Some say Front Page. If you ask any of the ops or the pro's in the channel, they'll say that Notepad is the best. And I tend to agree. But that doesn't help out anybody who's just starting out. I admit, I use an editor here or there. So I've got a list below of some of the more popular editors out there. And there are alot.

Hotdog Web Editor
This is the one I started with. Very easy to use and even customizable. I recommend this to anyone who is just starting out in HTML. It has buttons for about everything, but it doesn't support frames. For more info, you can check out the official home page.

WebEdit
Another very nice editor. It has a built in spell checker, as well as other features that makes this nice to use.

Revol WebWorker
This one is 32-bit, and allows long file names, as well at frames support. I found it a little clunky at times, but that's just probably me.

Front Page
I hate to say this, but I think this one blows hard. But a couple of people I've talked to says it's it, and they swear by it. So try it out for yourself. Only, beware! It's 8 MB's!

Webmedia Publisher Pro
I haven't used this myself, but I hear it's real decent. But you know what they say about opinions...

HoTMetaL
HoTMataL is another really good editor. When I first started doing web pages, I didn't know any code. So I didn't use this one. But it's gotten better since.

Now, if that wasn't enough for you, than check out these other places with some kewl links.

Windows95.com HTML Editors - I think this has almost every HTML editor around. This is the only place you would ever have to go, except for this.

Well, I hope I haven't offended anybody, and maybe I've helped you out a little bit. Either way, I'm glad, and wish you all the luck in the world with setting up your web page. It's not easy, but it can be alot of fun. So keep werkin at it. You'll get it.
